01Who we are & the scope of this policy

D1 Advisory and Capital LLC, doing business as Paraboliq ("Paraboliq," "we," "us," or "our"), a North Carolina limited liability company, is an executive advisory firm. This Privacy Policy explains how we handle information in two contexts: (a) visitors to our website at paraboliq.ai (the "Site"); and (b) information, including financial records, that we access and process on behalf of our advisory clients in the course of delivering our services (the "Services").

We have prepared this policy in part to meet the requirements of the Intuit Developer program, because our internal tools connect to the Intuit QuickBooks platform. Please read it together with the written engagement agreement governing your relationship with Paraboliq, which controls in the event of any conflict with this policy.

02The nature of our service

Paraboliq does not offer a publicly available software application, consumer product, or self-service platform. We do not onboard external end users, and there is no Paraboliq application that members of the public sign up for or log into.

Instead, Paraboliq uses proprietary, internal tools as part of its advisory work. With a client's authorization, these tools connect to the client's own financial records — including records maintained in Intuit QuickBooks — so that our team can perform AI-aided analysis of the client's financials as an input to the advisory guidance we deliver. The data subject and data controller in this context is ordinarily the client; Paraboliq acts as a service provider / processor handling the client's data on the client's instructions and for the client's benefit.

03Information we handle

Information from website visitors

Our Site is a static informational website. We do not operate user accounts on the Site and do not intentionally collect sensitive personal information from visitors. If you contact us (for example, by emailing the address listed below), we receive the information you choose to provide, such as your name, email address, organization, and the contents of your message. Our hosting and content-delivery providers may process limited technical information (such as IP address and request logs) as a normal part of serving the Site and maintaining its security. Our Site does not use cookies, analytics, or advertising trackers.

Information handled during engagements

When we are engaged by a client, we handle the information needed to perform the Services. This may include:

  • Client and client-personnel contact and engagement details;
  • Financial and accounting records provided by, or accessed with the authorization of, the client — including records accessed from Intuit QuickBooks as described in Section 04; and
  • Work product, notes, and analysis that we generate in the course of the engagement.

We ask clients not to provide, and we do not seek, categories of sensitive personal data beyond what is reasonably necessary to perform the Services.

04Intuit QuickBooks data

Where a client uses Intuit QuickBooks, our internal tools connect to the client's QuickBooks company data through Intuit's official APIs. This connection is established only with the client's authorization, using Intuit's authorization (OAuth) flow, and is scoped to the data required for the engagement.

Specifically, if a client engages us and requests financial analysis, and additionally authorizes our use of automated analysis tools on their financial records, we will use Intuit's Developer Program tools and the associated access to perform that analysis. We do so in compliance with the terms set out in the client's Master Services Agreement (MSA) and any other applicable client agreements, and consistent with this Privacy Policy and our Terms of Use.

  • What we access. Depending on the engagement and the scopes the client authorizes, this may include accounting data such as the chart of accounts, transactions, invoices and bills, customers and vendors, and financial statements (for example, profit-and-loss, balance sheet, and aging reports). We request the QuickBooks Online Accounting scope (com.intuit.quickbooks.accounting) and, for sign-in only, the OpenID Connect scopes (openid, profile, email). We do not request the Payments scope. Intuit does not offer a separate read-only accounting scope; we therefore restrict our use of this access to read-only operations — we query and read data but do not create, modify, or delete records in the client's QuickBooks company.
  • Authorization & credentials. We access QuickBooks data only via Intuit's authorized connection. We do not ask for or store a client's Intuit account password, and access tokens are handled and stored using the safeguards described in Section 09.
  • Purpose limitation. We use QuickBooks data solely to provide the Services to the client whose data it is. We do not use it for advertising or marketing, we do not sell it, and we do not use it to build profiles of, or for the benefit of, any party other than that client.
  • Disconnecting. A client may revoke our access at any time, either by asking us to disconnect or by disconnecting Paraboliq from within their Intuit account settings.

05How we use information

We use the information we handle to:

  • Provide, perform, and improve the advisory Services for the relevant client;
  • Conduct AI-aided analysis of the client's financials as an input to our advisory guidance (see Section 06);
  • Communicate with the client about the engagement;
  • Operate, secure, and maintain the Site and our internal tools; and
  • Comply with legal, regulatory, and professional obligations.

We do not sell personal or financial information, and we do not share it for cross-context behavioral advertising.

06AI processing of financial data

A core part of our methodology is the use of purpose-built, AI-native tools to analyze client financial data. In connection with that processing:

  • We use client financial data, including QuickBooks data, only to generate analysis and work product for that same client's engagement.
  • We do not use client financial data, including Intuit data, to train, fine-tune, or improve general-purpose or third-party AI models, and we do not permit our service providers to do so on our behalf. Our AI processing is performed using the models of Anthropic, PBC under account settings configured so that the data we submit is not used to train models and is not retained by the provider beyond what is necessary to return a result.
  • Where we use third-party AI infrastructure to process data, we do so under agreements that include appropriate confidentiality, security, and data-use restrictions (see Section 07).
  • Our analysis supports human advisors; recommendations delivered to clients are subject to professional review and judgment.

07Disclosure & sharing

We disclose information only in the following limited circumstances:

  • To the client whose engagement it relates to, and to people the client authorizes.
  • To service providers / subprocessors that help us operate — such as cloud hosting, infrastructure, and AI-processing providers — who are bound by confidentiality and data-protection obligations and may use the information only to provide services to us. Our current AI-processing subprocessor is Anthropic, PBC, which we use under settings configured for no model training and no data retention. We also use cloud-infrastructure provider(s) to host our tools. We keep this list current and bind each subprocessor to appropriate data-protection terms.
  • For legal and compliance reasons, where we believe in good faith that disclosure is required by law, regulation, legal process, or to protect rights, safety, or property.
  • In a business transaction, such as a merger, acquisition, or reorganization, subject to appropriate confidentiality protections.

We do not sell information, and we do not share Intuit QuickBooks data except as needed to provide the Services to the client or as required by law.

08Retention & deletion

We retain information only for as long as needed to provide the Services, to meet the legal, professional, and recordkeeping obligations that apply to advisory engagements, and to resolve disputes. We retain client financial data, including QuickBooks data, for no longer than one (1) year, or the retention term specified in the client's Master Services Agreement (MSA), whichever is shorter.

A client may request deletion of their data, and may revoke our access to their QuickBooks data at any time. On termination of an engagement or upon a valid deletion request, we will delete or de-identify the relevant data within a commercially reasonable period, except where retention is required by law or professional obligation.

09Security

We maintain administrative, technical, and organizational safeguards designed to protect the information we handle, including encryption of data in transit and at rest, access controls and least-privilege practices, segregation of client environments, and secure handling of API access tokens. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

10Your choices & rights

Depending on your jurisdiction and your relationship with us, you may have rights to access, correct, delete, or restrict the processing of personal information, or to object to certain processing. Because we typically process engagement data on behalf of a client, we will refer individual requests relating to client data to the relevant client and assist that client in responding. To exercise a right or make an inquiry, contact us using Section 14.

11U.S. clients & data location

Paraboliq is based in the United States and does business only with clients that are domiciled in the United States. Information we handle is processed in the United States. By authorizing our use of these tools, the client acknowledges that it is domiciled in the United States and represents that it is not subject to the data-residency or data-control requirements of any other jurisdiction.

12Children's privacy

Our Site and Services are intended for businesses and professional audiences and are not directed to children. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.

13Changes to this policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will revise the "Effective date" above and, where appropriate, notify affected clients. Material changes affecting our handling of QuickBooks data will be made consistent with our obligations under the Intuit Developer program.
